Technology designed alongside the home

The Cartwright is a 3,316-square-foot built-to-spec residence designed and constructed by Crafted Concepts. UpLync Networks was involved during construction to coordinate the home’s security, surveillance, networking, controlled lighting, video entry, distributed audio, and centralized automation before the walls were closed.

Planning the systems alongside the home allowed cabling, equipment locations, controls, and exterior devices to be incorporated intentionally rather than added after completion.

One coordinated smart-home experience

Control4 brings the home’s technology together through a central interface available from the kitchen touchscreen, mobile devices, and strategically placed lighting keypads.

Rather than requiring separate controls for each system, the homeowners can manage lighting scenes, security status, entry communication, audio, and other connected features from a consistent platform.

Custom lighting scenes simplify everyday routines with selections such as Morning, Daytime, Evening, Entertain, Goodnight, Away, and All Off. These commands coordinate multiple fixtures with a single button press while retaining familiar individual lighting control.

Security, surveillance, and video entry

A professionally installed security system provides centralized arming, notifications, and property awareness. Exterior surveillance cameras were positioned around the residence to monitor primary approaches and outdoor areas while remaining discreet against the dark soffits and exterior finishes.

The front entrance includes a network-connected video doorbell for visitor notifications, live viewing, and two-way communication.

The conveniently located security interface provides straightforward arming, status information, and connected-home awareness.

Exterior cameras were positioned for effective coverage while blending into the home’s dark architectural finishes.

Infrastructure supporting the experience

The visible controls are supported by a centralized structured-wiring enclosure containing the home’s networking, automation, security, and connected-device infrastructure.

Hardwired connections were used wherever practical to improve reliability, reduce dependence on wireless communication, and create a serviceable foundation for future expansion.

Built for daily living

The completed system does not ask the homeowners to think about individual technologies. Lighting, security, surveillance, entry communication, networking, and entertainment operate as coordinated parts of the residence.
