Frequently Asked Questions

Do I really need wiring if everything is wireless now?

Yes. Wireless (Wi-Fi) is convenient, but it’s only as strong as the wiring that supports it. Hardwiring ensures speed, reliability, and performance that Wi-Fi alone can’t match — especially in larger homes or during heavy use.

What makes you different from an internet service provider (ISP)?

An ISP delivers the internet connection to your home — but they don’t design or optimize the network inside it. UpLync Networks takes that connection and builds the wiring, hardware, and systems that make your internet fast, reliable, and secure in every room. In short, your ISP brings the service, but we make it perform the way it should.

What makes you different from other AV integrators in the area?

Many AV companies focus on plug-and-play solutions or quick installs. At UpLync Networks, every system is tailored for your specific home and lifestyle. We’re licensed as a Security & Fire Alarm installer, so we hold ourselves to strict codes and standards that go beyond the typical AV job. That means more planning, more care, and systems that work the right way — not just the easy way.

Can you work with my builder or contractor during new construction?

Absolutely. The best time to design and install wiring for AV, security, or networking systems is during construction, when we can future-proof the home with conduit and proper cabling. Unfortunately, low-voltage is not always considered in the planning stage of a new build, and many electricians don’t provide it. That’s where we come in — making sure your home is wired for today and ready for the future. Some builders add administrative fees when coordinating with outside contractors, but if you bring us in directly, you avoid that extra cost.

Will my system still work if the internet goes down?

Yes. We design systems to be locally resilient — so your security, surveillance, or whole-home audio won’t stop just because your internet does.

How do you keep costs under control?

We design every project around the customer and the home. That means recommending the right solution — not the easiest or most expensive one — and bundling services where it makes sense. Because we tend to work independently, you work with us directly to select exactly what you want which keeps you in control of optimizing price and quality. We also focus on future-proofing during installation, so you won’t pay twice when it comes time to expand or upgrade.

Do you provide support after installation?

Yes. We offer ongoing support, troubleshooting, and remote service options. Many installations also include a warranty and the option to add extended service plans for peace of mind.
